Moscow, Russia – As part of the II Festival of Latin American and Caribbean Culture in Moscow, the Embassy of El Salvador proudly presented the country’s rich gastronomic heritage. The event featured a variety of engaging activities designed to introduce attendees to the vibrant flavors of El Salvador.
The program included a comprehensive conference on traditional Salvadoran dishes, offering insights into the cultural significance and preparation methods of these beloved foods. Attendees were also treated to a masterclass on how to prepare pupusas, a staple of Salvadoran cuisine. The hands-on session allowed participants to learn the art of making this iconic dish, which consists of thick corn tortillas stuffed with a variety of fillings such as cheese, beans, and pork.
In addition to the educational components, a tasting session provided guests with the opportunity to savor the flavors of El Salvador. The menu featured a selection of traditional dishes, including the famous pupusas, quesadillas, and panes con pollo. Attendees also enjoyed Salvadoran coffee, renowned for its quality and unique flavor, and the traditional chan beverage, a refreshing drink made from the seeds of the chan plant.
