Bitcoin Made Easy: Azteco’s Vouchers to Simplify Remittances in El Salvador.

Azteco, a U.S.-based company operating in over 120 countries since 2019, is set to promote the use of Bitcoin in El Salvador through the sale of vouchers that can be easily redeemed in any digital wallet.

Tania Lea, Azteco’s Director of Marketing and Business Development for Latin America, explained that the company specializes in retail Bitcoin sales, offering vouchers in small amounts ranging from $1 to $1,000.

“The company sells vouchers in various amounts with QR codes, which you can scan to receive Bitcoin in a wallet,” Lea said.

Currently, these vouchers are available online through their website https://azte.co/ and via various providers like Bitrefill. Azteco plans to expand its presence by partnering with supermarkets and retail chains to offer their product in physical stores in countries like El Salvador.

For the local market specifically, Azteco aims to simplify the process of sending remittances. For instance, a member of the diaspora could buy a voucher online and digitally send it to a family member in El Salvador, allowing them to redeem the money without the need for traditional remittance services.

“It’s a simple product that anyone can have at their disposal. We focus on usability for people. We recommend simpler wallets so they can receive Bitcoin easily. We want users to be able to buy Bitcoin in person, at retail stores, supermarkets, and places where people pay for services,” Lea elaborated.

Regarding business conditions in El Salvador, Lea praised the country’s impressive development framework, which includes public safety, legal security, and the promotion of technological investments.

“The impact and leadership of President Nayib Bukele positively affect not only El Salvador but also globally, as his vision and policies serve as a reference and model for other countries,” she added.
