International Organizations Reaffirm Commitment to El Salvador Following Nayib Bukele’s Victory.

In the wake of Nayib Bukele’s historic re-election as President of El Salvador, key multilateral organizations have voiced their support for the Salvadoran people’s decision and pledged to continue collaborative efforts with the government to implement sustainable development strategies and promote well-being for the nation.

Major institutions such as the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (BCIE), Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (CEPAL), Development Bank of Latin America (CAF), and the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) have all expressed their commitment to working hand in hand with the Salvadoran government.

Sergio Diaz Granados, President of CAF, congratulated the Salvadoran people on their democratic participation and President Bukele on his election. Through social media, he stated, «Congratulations to the people of El Salvador for their democratic participation today, and to President @nayibbukele for his election. From @AgendaCAF, we will continue contributing to the country’s development.»

Diaz Granados emphasized the «democratic spirit of the Salvadoran people» and assured that CAF would stand firm in its support, ready to continue collaboration with the government for sustainable development and the well-being of its citizens. «Together, we will continue advancing on the path of progress and prosperity for El Salvador, Central America, and our entire region,» reaffirmed the regional bank.

The Inter-American Development Bank (BID) also joined in congratulating the newly elected president, expressing commitment to El Salvador’s development. Ilan Goldfajn, President of BID, conveyed, «El Salvador has a committed partner in the BID for the country’s development. We wish success to the new government in building a prosperous future for its people.»

Likewise, the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (Cepal) reiterated its commitment to working towards a more productive, inclusive, and sustainable future for all Salvadorans.

The Central American Bank for Economic Integration (BCIE) extended congratulations to El Salvador and President Bukele for his re-election. «We reaffirm our commitment to closely collaborate in building a prosperous future full of opportunities for all Salvadorans,» stated the BCIE.

Nayib Bukele’s resounding victory also resonated with institutions like the UNWTO, where Secretary-General Zurab Pololikashvili praised the commendable efforts to transform the nation. «My best wishes for your continued leadership. Today more than ever, we will work to sustain the growth figures in tourism for the country,» affirmed the representative of the international organization.
