El Salvador Marks 500 Days Without Homicides Under President Bukele’s Administration.

A milestone for El Salvador. The National Civil Police (PNC) reported that on Sunday, December 3, not a single homicide was recorded in the country. This achievement marks 500 days without violent deaths under the leadership of President Nayib Bukele.

The PNC conveyed the news through its official social media channels, stating, “We concluded Sunday, December 3, with 0 homicides in the country. From June 1, 2019, until today, 500 days without homicides have been recorded.”

President Bukele, quick to highlight this accomplishment, underscored that no previous administrations had ever achieved even a single day without violent deaths. He expressed his gratitude, stating, “We have reached 500 days without homicides! And to think that, throughout the entire previous government, they couldn’t manage a single day without homicides. Thanks to God, El Salvador is now a different country,” via his official X account.

The country’s streak of violence-free days is attributed to the comprehensive security measures implemented by President Bukele’s administration. Among these measures, the Plan Control Territorial and security cordons have played a pivotal role in reclaiming control over key areas that were once dominated by gangs. The exceptional measures, including the regime of exception, have facilitated the apprehension of thousands of gang members.

El Salvador’s commitment to enhancing security has not only resulted in a historic period without homicides but has also instilled a sense of safety among its citizens. The measures have effectively curbed the influence of gangs, contributing to a notable transformation in the nation’s security landscape.

As El Salvador celebrates this remarkable achievement, President Bukele’s administration continues to prioritize the safety and well-being of its citizens through innovative and effective security initiatives. The 500-day milestone stands as a testament to the tangible impact of these efforts in creating a safer and more secure environment for the people of El Salvador.
